AML files store code used for generating Windows Help documents. AML files can be generated using such tools as Microsoft Visual Studio or DocProject. MAML documents can be visualized by rendering them in various text format, such as DHTML, XAML, or RTF. AML format was developed as an alternative to CHM format.
