ARG is an extension given to files associated with a CAD / CAM program called AutoCAD. ARG files are used to store user profile settings, but they do not refer to the program interface configuration. This is the application data used by the system registry. ARG is an exported policy file that can be used when migrating a program from one device to another. It is a plain text file.

ARG files are not supported by the truncated version of AutoCAD LT, but only the full AutoCAD version. The program was developed by Autodesk, Inc.
