AWW is a text document file format similar to the popular DOCX format. AWW files are created by Ability Write, a software tool included in office package called Ability Office, a direct competitor to Microsoft Office software suite.

Ability Office was first released more than 20 year ago, in 1996. Although considered a niche software, it is actively developed and updated and is compatible with newer versions of Microsoft Windows operating system.
