JGW file format is used by various versions of GIS products, such as ArcGIS or MapInfo. This type of file contains georeference data saved as raster image. Spatial coordinates are stored in JGW file as raster JPG image.
JGW file specifies image scaling and information regarding the coordinates of the top-left corner pixel. JGW files can be used for generating aerial maps of actual geographic area.
