File with an .MOFF extension contains an index of analysed video data, however, it does not contain the video stream itself. It is created along with an MODD file and it enables the M2TS video file analysis.

MOFF files are utilised by the software dedicated to display and analyse Sony Picture movies in the Motion Browser. If they are deleted, the movie can be still viewed but without the analysis data.
