WSS file extension is associated with Microsoft-developed sound card specification files. WSS files were supported on Windows 3.1 and could handle 16–bit 48 kHz audio. WSS standard also supported MS-DOS games (such as Doom) and had capabilities to emulate AdLib and Sound Blaster devices.
WSS drivers used RCA analog interface, a rare feature for sound card of this era.
