AAWDEF is a document file used by antivirus and ad-blocker software applications. AAWDEF files contain virus database created by Lavasoft Adaware Antivirus application. Successful attack prevention depends on how frequently AAWDEF database is being updated.
Adaware offers many software products of which some are paid, and some are available for free. Each application stores its virus definitions in AAWDEF file named ‘core.aawdef’. AAWDEF files are supported only on Windows 7 and later.
