PROFILE is an extension of files associated with the Bash shell of Unix and Mac OS X systems. PROFILE files are used to store the configuration data of this tool. The shell PROFILE in PROFILE files specifies the shell environment, environment variables, and scripts to be executed, among other things. All settings in the PROFILE file are loaded and loaded when the shell is started.
The system shell is a tool that includes a text console and a command language.
