File with a .DFONT extension contains a standard Mac OS font. The content of a font is contained in the part of a file called in Mac OS the „data fork”, instead of the resources part – „resource fork”.

DFONT files can be browsed with the Font Book software and also via other applications that have access to the system fonts. Fonts available for the user or system are stored in separate folders - Users~usernameLibraryFonts (for users) and LibraryFonts (for system).
