File with a .DNG extension contains an uncompressed digital image captured with a camera. It is a RAW format. It is universal, non-specific to any camera producer, developed by Adobe Systems for purpose of photography archiving.

DNG format is widely supported by the browsing software and photography edition software. Utilising Ardfry Imaging DNG codec, Windows system supports DNG format directly in Windows Explorer.
