FBW is a backup copy file created with HP Recovery Manager Software application. FBW format was developed for Windows Server 2003 and 2008 systems as a part of business-oriented data backup solution. FBW is an archive file that stores data in compressed form.

FBW files were typically used as security backup copies and stored on external storage devices (CDs, USB drives, external HDD drives, etc.). Single FBW archive can be further divided into smaller parts. In order to unpack given FBW archive an executable EXE file related to the archive is needed (the EXE file is created automatically upon archive creation).
