JIFF is an extension of files used to store images saved as raster graphics. Data in JIFF files is generated based on a lossy JPEG graphics compression algorithm. The degree of image compression affects their quality (the larger the image, the lower the quality).

Files of this type are widely used (e.g. digital photos, publication on websites), although the JIFF extension itself is rare.
