MDC is the extension of files associated with Minolta RD175 digital cameras. MDC files were used to store the raw data captured while the image was captured by the image sensor. These are RAW images. The data in this format is not processed in any way and has a large tonal range. The image is not compressed.
Although the Minolta RD175 is an older camera (one of the first SLRs), it is now used in most digital photo capture devices.
