File with a .MIX extension contains a vector image created in the PhotoDraw 2000 software, currently unsupported after the release of the second version. PhotoDraw 2000 software was an element of the Microsoft Office 2000 suite offering support for raster and vector graphic.

Originally, the MIX files were designed for use with Microsoft Picture It!, however, this project was discontinued and its solutions were partially implemented into Microsoft Digital Image Suite (unavailable since the year 2006) and Windows Vista.
