Files with the .PICTCLIPPING extension contain graphics - elements of screenshots captured by the Mac OS X Finder application. By highlighting a graphic item or text and dragging it onto the desktop, the user creates a PICTCLIPPING image.

The files are often used to copy album art from iTunes or cellular content from the Apple Numbers spreadsheet software. With Lemkesoft's GraphicsConverter software, PICRCLIPPING files can be converted to other, more versatile graphic formats.
