PPM is a rarely used file extension for bitmap images. PPM files store data in plain text format that define basic image properties: width, depth, and data for each pixel.

Pixels in PPM files are numbered from 0 to 65536. PPM file is a 24-bit RGB image, similar to other less known image format PNM.
