PS1 is a script file or cmdlet used by Windows PowerShell and replaces cmd.exe and command.com programs. Cmdlet is a special command in PowerShell tha implements certain functions.

PS1 script contains sequence of command written in PowerShell scripting language used to execute defined tasks. PS1 scripts can be sused to automate commonly performed jobs/tasks. PS1 can be created usingn Windows PowerShell ISE application. PS1 scripts allow users to access certain system resources critical for operating system proper functioning. It is advised that only advanced users create PS1 files.
