Files with the .WS extension contain scripts written in the Jscript and VBScript script languages, and can also contain data in the XML format. They are what is called executable files.

WS scripts are executed in Windows, provided that the Windows Scripting Host, WSH for short, program is installed, namely versions 2.0 and newer. Double-clicking a WS file prompts its execution, which is why if it comes from an unknown source, such as an e-mail attachment, it should not be opened.
