File with a .CINE extension contains usually uncompressed, raw movie data, recorded by the Vision Research – Phantom digital camera. It may also contain compressed data, but it is hardly utilised that way, due to its lowered processing speed.

Video data in the CINE raw format can be later processed (image parameters adjustment, such as white balance colour correction and such) with no image quality loss.
